CONTENTMENT

What makes one fulfilled or contented?
From time to time, we are visited by blind people from the Blind Association. They brought along with them their products such as brooms, floormats, baskets, and dusters. We used to buy our brooms from them to help them and share what we have.
One time, two blind men came. One is blind, and the other, has only one eye blinded. As usual, they brought along their products. I let them wait. While waiting, the two of them sat at the doorstep. The one-eye blind was describing the surroundings: the birds, their colour, the trees, the sky. The blind man was very happy and content. It was so beautiful and edifying to see the two of them and their mutual love and support for one another. I felt very small and embarrassed at the sight of the two of them. They gave me a grandiose sermon!
How many of us are so discontented in spite of the many gifts that God has given?
us? How many of us are grateful to God for giving us two good eyes, the power to speak, the ability to walk and move around, the ability to think, and other many, countless gifts? How are we using them? We have countless wants and desires, and the more we attain them, the more burdened we become -unhappy and complaining.
The two blind men are indeed blessed, for they perceived the kingdom of God. They experienced God! They touched God, although without articulating it.
Tears welled up in my heart. I thanked them for the grand sermon in my heart and Their memory will remain indelibly written in my heart.
